titleOfInvention ANTIBIOTIC XK-62-2 AND ITS PREPARATION PROCESS
abstract Antibiotic XK-62-2, with mol. wt. 463 and empirical formula C20H41N5O7 (UV, IR and NMR spectra given) is produced by culturing a suitable Micromonospora strain, pref. M.sagamiensis ATCC 21826, M.sagamiensis var. flava ATCC 21827, M.sagamiensis var. nonreductans ATCC 21803 or M. nonreductans ATCC 21949 (new strains), and isolating XK-62-2 from the culture liquid. The above strains also produce gentamicin C complex antibiotics. XK-62-2 is closely related to gentamicin C2a and has high activity against Gram positive and negative bacteria, including resistant Proteus and Pseudomonas spp. It can be used in human and veterinary medicine and as an animal feed additive.
