abstract 2-(heterocyclic substituted amino)-oxazolines anti hypertensives and CNS depressants.. are new cmpds. of formula: (where R and R' are each H, Cl or (1-3C) alkyl or together are joined to form a bicyclic ring system; m is 1or 2; A, X, D and Z are each H or (1-4C) alkyl but together contain at most 8C; and Q is O or S) or are acid-addition salts thereof. In preferred cmpds. A, X, D And Z are each H, Q is O or S, m is l, R is CH3, or C2H5 and R' is H r CH3, or R and R' together are tetramethylene. The substd. amino group can be at any position of the mono-or bi-cyclic furan or thiophene ring system. The are prepared by cyclisation of the corresponding cmpds, containing the side chain -NHCONHC(D.Z)-C(A. X)Cl by refluxing in water.
