titleOfInvention Organic epoxides
abstract EPOXIDISING AGENT FOR UNSATURATED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS. M5-. Consists of a mixture of (I) hydrogen peroxide, and (II) an aldehyde conjugated with alpha, beta-ethylenic unsaturation containing 3-50 C atoms, the amount of II being 0.05-1.5 mole per mole of I. Unsaturated organic compounds are conveniently epoxidised products without decomposition. The agent is partic. useful for epoxidising unsaturated vegetable oils to oils suitable for use as plasticisers and stabilisers for plastics.
