abstract The invention relates to a method for producing a foam profile which comprises one or more longitudinal cavities with a closed cross section, the method comprising the following steps: (a) Extrusion of a first polymer composition, in the presence of one or more first blowing agents, into a foamed base profile polygonal cross-section, preferably with a rectangular cross-section, the first polymer composition containing one or more (co) polyesters, (b) cooling the foamed base profile, (c) creating a trench over the length of the foamed base profile by removing material, preferably by milling , Cutting, laser or thermofusion, wherein the trench forms two parallel strands in the foamed base profile, each of the strands comprising an outer surface which is opposite to the trench and an inner surface which faces the trench, and (d) extruding inside the trench one with the first Polymer composition identical or not identical second polymer composition, preferably in the presence of one or more second blowing agents, in at least one cross strut at at least one point between the two inner surfaces of the two strands of the trench, so that at least one closed cavity is formed inside the trench.
