abstract The present invention relates to a liquid reagent for immunochemical assays, comprising a polymer with a high molecular weight in an aqueous solution, wherein the polymer is polyethylene glycol (PEG) with a molecular weight higher than 20 kDa. The invention also relates to a method for the immunochemical determination of an antigen in a sample, the method using the liquid reagent according to an embodiment of the invention. Finally, the invention relates to the use of the liquid reagent according to an embodiment of the invention in an immunochemical assay.
