Absorbent core comprising substantially continuous zones of one or more high liquid distribution structures and discontinuous zones of liquid absorption structures surrounding the one or more high liquid distribution structures, wherein the one or more high liquid distribution structures are arranged to distribute liquid over the absorbent core at a speed that is faster then the rate of fluid distribution over the absorbent core through the discontinuous fluid absorption structures, and wherein the continuous zones extend along a path that is substantially parallel to at least a portion of the periphery of the core, the portion of the periphery of the core comprising at least a portion of the sides of the core and one of the ends of the core. |
