abstract The invention relates to a mold (36) for injecting a layer of abradable material, such as silicone, inside an internal shell (32) of an axial turbomachine compressor. The mold (36) comprises a circular (38) or tubular and axially extending wall, two annular walls (40) extending radially outwardly from the axial ends of the axial wall (38). Each radial wall (40) of the mold (36) includes an annular hook (42) in contact with the outer surface of the shell (32) to hold the mold against the shell. The injection pressure presses the hooks (42) against the ferrule (32), ensuring a seal. The walls (38; 40) form an annular mold cavity within the inner shell in combination with the inner shell (32). The invention also relates to a method of molding an abradable layer inside the shell using the mold (36). The latter is deformed by moving away the hooks (42) to fit the ferrule (32) there.
