USES OF INHIBITION FACTORS OF MIGRATION OF MACROPHAGES PARASITES |
abstract |
This invention relates to compositions (e.g., vaccine compositions) that can be used to provide a subject with protective immunity against parasite infection. The compositions comprise: (i) an immunologically effective amount of a nucleic acid (e.g., a nucleic acid vaccine) comprising a sequence that encodes an inhibitory factor antigen (MIF), a macrophage migration parasite; (ii) a parasite MIF antigen; or (iii) an antibody that specifically binds to a parasite MIF antigen. The compositions can be used to treat infections and n n diseases caused by parasitic protozoa, _________________________________________________________________________________________________ "................................ as a Plasmodium parasite or parasitic helminths . |
