titleOfInvention | IMPROVED DEVICE PLANNING WITH IMPLANT TREATMENTS brachytherapy PERMANENT PLAN FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCERS OTHER THAN PROSTATE CANCER. |
abstract | The present invention relates to an improved computerized planning device for low dose rate and permanent implant interstitial Brachytherapy treatments, making it possible to plan this Brachytherapy for cancers other than prostate cancer. It is based on planning devices for existing Brachytherapy treatments used in the treatment of prostate cancer, but also includes the possibility of reorienting the image of the diseased organ to present it in a more appropriate view for treatment. by reconstructing the three-dimensional organ using classical methods, and by transforming the reconstructed organ by means of translational and rotational operations in space using classical methods. The new views of the well-oriented organ are saved for planning Brachytherapy treatments with permanent implants. This planning can be done with existing planning devices on the market that are only usable for the prostate. |
