A mineral additive to be added to foodstuffs, animal feeds and medicines and comprising a source of magnesium is characterized in that it comprises 1) magnesium lactate; 2) essentially dibasic, acidic, water-soluble magnesium citrate; and if desired 3) magnesium hydroxide; and, in addition, if desired 4) a carbohydrate additive. The amount of magnesium citrate preferably consists of 5 to 15% by weight calculated as magnesium. |
