The production of hydrated aluminas, in particular from acidic water originating from processes using reactions of the Friedel-Crafts type. According to the invention, an aluminum compound and a precipitating agent which are soluble in a polar solvent are reacted, the suspension of aluminum hydroxide obtained is concentrated, it is crystallized at alkaline pH, the aluminum hydroxide is separated crystallized, washed and dried. Obtained aluminas of homogeneous characteristics, suitable for the manufacture of catalysts and catalytic supports. |
