titleOfInvention PROBE IMMERSION a molten metal bath.
abstract Measuring probe (10) for measuring the solidification temperature of a molten metal bath, which probe has a unitary construction and is mounted on the end of an elongated hollow support tube (12). A body section (14) supports a thermocouple (20) in a defined chamber. The end of the chamber is closed by a coolant (34), which is arranged opposite the thermocouple (20), so that the movement of the phase transition of the molten metal in the chamber (16) passes through the thermocouple (20) this ends. The probe (10) accelerates the phase transition of the metal and provides a quick and accurate determination of the solidification temperature of the molten metal bath, which can be related to the alloy content of the bath.
