Method for controlling the formation and emissions of sulfur oxide during the combustion of a fuel oil prepared from a sulfur-containing hydrocarbon, comprising forming a hydrocarbon emulsion in water and the addition to this water-based hydrocarbon emulsion of a water-soluble additive, chosen from the group consisting of Na +, K +, Li +, Ca ++, Ba ++, Mg ++, Fe +++ and their mixtures, so as to obtain SO2 emission levels by combustion of this emulsion less than or equal to 1.50 free / MMBTU (2.7 kg / Gcal). |
