abstract | The present disclosure provides for the fortification of solid and semi-solid food products nenriched using encapsulated nutraceuticals, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, prebiotics, nproteins, polypeptides, essential fatty acids, phenolic compounds, antioxidants, immunenboosters, any other bioactive material and variations thereof. This fortification or enrichment nis mainly attained using safe, stable and efficient micro- and nano-encapsulation methods, nprepared by green-technologies, to preserve bioactive compounds during process, storage and ngut digestive conditions. The encapsulation procedure also provides sustained release of the nencapsulated material after consumption, that would help improve metabolism and avoid npotential adverse effects of overdoses. The encapsulation technology, comprised of multincomponent capsules with a plurality of layers, can encapsulate a single or a number of nbioactive compounds, also improves the bioavailability of such bioactive material.
