titleOfInvention Ophthalmic cutting instruments having integrated aspiration pump
abstract A device for extracting lens material from an eye including a distal, disposable portion releaseably coupleable to a proximal, reusable portion. The disposable portion includes a cutting tube having a distal cutting tip and an inner lumen having an open distal end. The disposable portion includes an aspiration pump fluidly coupled to the inner lumen of the cutting tube and a cutting tube drive mechanism configured to oscillate the cutting tube. The reusable portion includes an aspiration pump motor configured to drive the aspiration pump and a coupler for releaseably operatively coupling the pump motor to the aspiration pump. Related devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.
