The present invention relates to a fire-retardant antistatic polyolefin pipe for use in nlocations where generation of sparks can cause ignition of ambient gases, such as nmines. The fire-retardant antistatic polyolefin pipe comprises a polyolefin core nenclosing a lumen and and a first layer covering a first surface of the polyolefin core, nwherein said first layer comprises a conductive polymer alloy that has incorporated ntherein a flame-retardant additive. This has the advantage that the core can be made nof a relatively cheap material which is also strong, thereby ensuring the pipe can nfunction as a pressure pipe, while the provision of the first layer imparts a fire-retardant nantistatic characteristic to the pipe. |
