Abstract The present disclosure relates to synthetic substituted heterocyclic compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same. The examples include compounds with a 1,4 diaminoanthracene-9,10-dione core with substituents such as piperidin-1-yl and piperazin-1-yl at the 2-position of the anthracene ring and aromatic moieties attached to the 4-amino group. The disclosure further concerns the use of such compounds in the treatment and/or prevention of certain types of cancers, pain, inflammation, restenosis, atherosclerosis, psoriasis, thrombosis, Alzheimer's, a disease, disorder, injury or malfunction relating to dysmyelination or demyelination. |
