abstract | The microfluidic perfusion device includes a chamber that contains and cultures cells therein, a porous membrane that is reversibly attached onto the chamber and a perfusion layer that includes at least one channel with an inlet and an outlet and a fluid opening therebetween. The chamber has a chamber opening. The porous membrane covers the chamber opening. The chamber, the membrane, and the perfusion layer form a multilayer vessel. The fluid opening is positioned to matches the position of the chamber opening with the membrane sandwiched therebetween.
