abstract |
An intravenous tubing set comprising: a coupling component for accessing a source of flush solution; a flush chamber; one or more IV tubing integrally connecting the source of flush solution and the flush chamber via one or more heat seals forming a closed system, the flush chamber being evacuated of air to form a vacuum in the flush chamber; the flush chamber heat sealed to an IV tubing, the IV tubing connecting the flush chamber and a patient catheter; one or more flow control devices threaded through the IV tubing between the source of flush solution and the flush chamber to control the flow of flush solution into the flush chamber, wherein the one or more flow control devices do not come into contact with the flush solution; and one or more flow control devices threaded through the IV tubing between the flush chamber and the patient catheter.
