titleOfInvention Absorbent articles with improved stain decolorization
abstract ABSORBENT ARTICLES WITH IMPROVED STAIN DECOLORIZATION There is disclosed a personal care absorbent article (10) for receiving a body exudate comprising a topsheet layer (14), a backsheet layer (12), and at least one absorbent core layer (20) having a peripheral edge positioned between said topsheet layer (14) and said backsheet layer (12), said article (10) defining a longitudinal axis, a transverse axis and a vertical axis, said topsheet layer (14) having a user facing surface (14A) having a first region (86) for receiving said body exudate comprising menses including red blood cells, said user facing surface (14A) having a second region (88) capable of receiving said body exudate from said first region (86) and a decolorization material (89) capable of filtering said red blood cells within said body exudate, said decolorization material (89) altering the visual appearance of said body exudate in said second region (88) as compared to said first region (86) by lowering the content of said red blood cells in said second region (88) as compared to said first region (86) as said body exudate travels from said first region (86) to said second region (88) through said decolorization material (89), wherein said decolorization material (89) is associated with said topsheet layer (14) and forms a dam-like structure extending above said user facing surface (14A) of said topsheet layer (14).
