abstract A method of manufacturing a fuel for a spark-ignition engine that exhibits good start behavior comprising: providing a first alcohol that exhibits a vapor pressure if blended with a base fuel at a concentration by volume to form a component mixture; providing a second alcohol that exhibits another vapor pressure if separately blended with the base fuel at another concentration by volume to form another component mixture; and blending the first and second alcohols with the base fuel so a fuel mixture that results exhibits a vapor pressure that is greater than an average of the vapor pressures of the component and other component mixtures.
