abstract A plug-in coupling for a pipe (3), in particular for water conduits, is described, with a coupling sleeve (1) receiving the pipe end (2), with a sealing ring (4) which is inserted into the coupling sleeve (1), with a locking ring (6) which is mounted upstream of the sealing ring (4) in the plug-in direction of the pipe end (2) and forms retaining claws (7) which protrude with respect to the pipe end (2) and are inclined in the plug-in direction, and with an annular body which is likewise mounted upstream of the sealing ring (4) and is supported axially in the plug-in direction in relation to the coupling sleeve (1). In order to provide advantageous construction conditions, it is proposed that the annular body has a protection ring (12), which is connected via a predetermined breaking connection (13), for surrounding the end side of the pipe end (2) from the outside.
