abstract An agent for improving the blocking rate of an RO membrane (reverse osmosis membrane), said agent containing two or more kinds of organic compounds having different molecular weights. By using the agent for improving the blocking rate, problems such as the formation of aggregates, poor dissolution in water and hydrolysis can be prevented and, therefore, the blocking rate of an RO membrane can be effectively improved. The agent for improving the blocking rate of an RO membrane, said agent containing, as two or more kinds of organic compounds having different molecular weights, at least an amino group-containing organic compound having a molecular weight of 60 or more and less than 500 and tannic acid, is characterized in that the aforesaid amino group-containing organic compound and tannic acid are stored in the form of two powdery chemicals differing from each other.
