titleOfInvention Transducer based health monitoring system
abstract TRANSDUCER BASED HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM A method and apparatus for detecting an inconsistency in an object (302). A signal (324) sent from a first transducer unit (316) is received at a second transducer unit (318). The signal (324) is sent along a path (320) through an object (302) from the first transducer unit (316) to the second transducer unit (318). The second transducer unit (318) has segments (326). A velocity is identified at each segment (326) in the segments (326) for a number of modes for the signal (324) to form identified velocities. A determination is made as to whether the inconsistency is present along the path (320) through the object (302) using the identified velocities for the number of modes for the signal (324). SEND A SIGNAL ALONG A PATH 1000 THROUGH AN OBJECT USING A FIRST TRANSDUCER UNIT RECEIVE THE SIGNAL SENT FROM 1002 THE FIRST TRANSDUCER UNIT AT A SECOND TRANSDUCER UNIT IDENTIFY A VELOCITY AT EACH SEGMENT IN THE SEGMENTS 1004 FOR A NUMBER OF MODES FOR THE SIGNAL TO FORM IDENTIFIED VELOCITIES INCONSISTENCY N PRESENT ALONG THE PATH N THROUGH THE OBJECT? 1008 GENERATE AN ALERT
