titleOfInvention | Seismic isolation device |
abstract | Disclosed is a seismic isolation device comprising a tabular base board (2) which has convex protrusions, and a smooth sliding plate (3) which is placed in such a way that a sliding contact surface thereof is made to abut the convex protrusion side of the base board. In this seismic isolation device, the apparent friction coefficient (μ) of only a high-friction section of the sliding contact surface of the sliding plate is set to be higher than the apparent friction coefficient of that portion of the sliding surface which is other than the high-friction section, said high-friction section being a section with which the convex protrusions (2a) of the base board come into contact when the sliding plate is stationary at first after being placed on the base board. As a result, it is possible to achieve a situation where no relative shaking occurs due to small vibrations such as mechanical vibrations, automobile traffic vibrations, or minor-earthquake-caused vibrations, and where the base board and the sliding plate start to slide relative to each other in the case of an earthquake registering 5-minus or more on the Japanese seismic scale. |
