abstract A formulation for the treatment of a water source to provide high quality drinking water comprising sintered dolomite powder, aluminium powder, diatomaceous earth and 5 anhydrous Na2CO 3. The formulation may also contain selenium. The formulation may be provided in a water permeable bag. The formulation produces high quality drinking water which in some cases comprises selenium and has a mildly alkaline pH and an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) of -250 to -350 mV.
