Disclosed is a composite particle that can, in a stable manner, highly suppress photocatalysis, breakdown, and discoloring due to ultraviolet rays, despite containing titanium oxide. Further disclosed are a coated article and a composition for forming a coating membrane using said composite particle, said composition being used especially as printing ink and as a coating material composition. The composite particle is characterized by the average particle diameter being 0.15-3 μm and by having, in order from the inside, a particle containing titanium oxide; a first coating layer containing silicon oxide or a composite oxide of silicon oxide and either aluminum oxide or aluminum hydroxide; a second coating layer containing cerium oxide; and a third coating layer containing silicon oxide. |
