titleOfInvention | Method and kit for detection of microorganism |
abstract | The living cells of microorganisms in a test sample are distinguished from dead cells or damaged cells and detected by means of the following steps: a step (a) in which the test sample has added thereto a pharmaceutical preparation that covalently bonds with DNA or RNA upon being irradiated with light having a wavelength of 350-700nm; a step (b) in which the test sample with a crosslinking agent added thereto is irradiated with light having a wavelength of 350-700nm; a step (c) in which a target area of the DNA or RNA of the microorganisms in the test sample is amplified without extracting the nucleic acid from the cells, in the presence of a pharmaceutical preparation that suppresses the action of a nucleic acid amplification inhibitor, and by using a nucleic acid amplification method; and a step (d) in which the amplification product obtained therefrom is analyzed. |
