Disclosed are Candida utilis yeast lines that have been transformed with at least one of three kinds of genes that have been mechanically linked to a promoter sequence and code for polypeptides that have xylose reductase, xylitol dehydrogenase and xylulose phosphorylase activity. Said yeast lines are useful for manufacturing metabolic products from xylose with high efficiency. |
