abstract | Method of polymerization for obtaining polylactic acid in the L or D configuration, having a number-average molecular mass of between 60 000 and 200 000, in which there is a degree of lack of insertion of between 0 and 0.5% by weight of polylactic acid and a degree of lack of racemization of between 0 and 2.5% by weight of polylactic acid, characterized in that the method is a bulk method which comprises bringing corresponding lactide of L-L or D-D stereochemical configuration, having an optical purity with respect to L or D of at least 99.5% by weight, into contact, at a temperature of between 170 and 200°C and for a reaction time of between 5 and 75 minutes, with at least one catalyst in the presence of an initiating agent so as to form poly-L-lactic acid or poly-D-lactic acid. |
