abstract The present invention discloses a hand held portable transponder (17) which is used to send control signals to identified multigame gaming machines such as poker or slot machines (11) in the vicinity of the transponder (17). The transponder sends a modulated signal to a communication module (18) within each gaming machine which can select for operation one of a number of games previously stored in each gaming machine (11).
