A method of increasing the resistance of a grass plant to abiotic nstresses by the step of elevating the level of janthitrem epoxide compounds in nthe host grass to levels that confer the resistance by inoculating the grass with n5 at least one endophyte from Neotyphodium loli species characterized by nhaving a B10 allele size of approximately 160bp-161bp and a B11 allele size of napproximately 132bp. |
