abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a primary laminate including a tabstock in which a seal laminate (1 ) including a foil layer (5) and a top foam layer (7), a tabstock (8) and a plastic film stock (10) are fed to a laminating station (6). At the lamination station, a curtain of polymeric adhesive (9) is extruded between the plastics film stock and the top face of the primary substrate (1a), which is partly comprised of the top face of the tabstock and partly comprised of the top foam layer of the seal laminate. Use of primary laminates (1b) obtained by such a process to form seals for sealing a container, for food or drink stored at low temperatures, is also described.
