| abstract | A method and a device for detecting the risk of a person drowning in water are specified, wherein the method involves (a) determining whether the person is in the water, (b) measuring the person's pulse, (c) determining the person's position, (d) monitoring the capacity of an energy source on the person, (e) transmitting data from the person to a receiver, (f) filling a gas chamber on the person with a gas if a pulse limit value is exceeded and thus producing buoyancy, and (g) triggering an alarm in the receiver. The subject matter of the invention is characterized in that (h) the person's breathing rate is measured, (i) the pressure at the water depth of the person is measured, (j) the position of the person's body is measured, (k) limit value data and generated data are compared with one another in an evaluation/signalling unit and, if required, the gas chamber is filled with gas and an alarm is triggered. |
