A piece of furniture has a depression, recess or opening on one or more surfaces, which is coated and sealed like a tub by casting resin which has been made viscous by means of fillers such as color pigments, quartz powder or the like. Crystal-clear casting resin is poured in to about a third of the depth, and decorative objects, in particular plant parts, are pressed into the surface of this layer and thus pinned in places. Low-viscosity casting resin is poured on up to the edge of the depression, so that the free plant parts float and take on a spatial shape. Finally, a surface layer is poured over it and, after it has completely hardened, ground very finely. |
