abstract When filling the edge joint of insulating glass blanks (3) hot melt adhesive is introduced as a filling compound from a filling nozzle (13) in the edge joint of the insulating glass blank (3). The filling compound is supplied to the filling nozzle (14) via lines (17) and a buffer store (15), which compensates for pressure fluctuations in the filling material, from a storage drum (16) by means of a barrel pump. When filling the edge joint of the insulating glass blank (3) on a horizontal conveyor (5) with a plurality of conveyor belts (6) which are provided with a coating to which the filling material is not liable, rising and on a support wall (2) moves leaning. The movements of the insulating glass blank (3) are supported by a driver with at least one suction head, which is moved in synchronism with the horizontal conveyor (5).
