The present invention relates to a process for producing iron oxide-containing compacts from lower-grained oxidic iron carriers by preparing a mixture comprising lower-grained oxidic iron carriers, bentonite as binder, and water, pressing the mixture, and curing the green compacts obtained in the pressing, as well as by the method produced compacts and the use of the compacts as lumpy iron carrier. According to the invention, after combining its components, the mixture is subjected to a kneading process of at least 3 minutes up to 30 minutes, followed by pressing. The compacts are carried out without mucking. |
