titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR PRODUCING BIOMASS FROM MICRO ALGAE BY PHOTOSYNTHESIS |
abstract | A process is described for producing biomass from microalgae by photo-synthesis, wherein the microalgae are irradiated with light in an aqueous substrate, to which a carbon dioxide-enriched scrubbing solution is added, before the resulting excess of biomass is separated from the substrate becomes. In order to provide advantageous process conditions, it is proposed that the substrate forming a free surface forms an upper reaction layer with the microalgae which rests on a lower storage layer of carbon dioxide-enriched washing solution containing nutrients for the microalgae separated by a film and in that, for the purpose of obtaining biomass, a predetermined amount of microalgae and substrate are cyclically withdrawn from the reaction layer guided in a circulating flow and replaced by washing solution from the storage layer to be filled in accordance with the discharge quantities. |
