titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR WASHING A SUCTION MATERIAL |
abstract | Absorbent material is washed in several stages (III, IV) as it is forwarded in contra-flow to the wash liquid. At each stage the liquid drains into a vessel and then overflows into the adjacent vessel. The amount overflowing is 50 to 100 %, preferably 75 %, of the amount drained from that stage. The flow rates are controlled by baffles and partitions that restrict mixing between supply liquid and return liquid at each stage. An independent claim is also included for washing plant incorporating tanks with restrictions to control the amount of mixing within tanks and the overflow rates. This can be achieved by internal baffles or by a branch in the return duct from the wash stage. |
