abstract A video microscope couples to a video sensor or image converter and to a downstream image-capture/-processing device. A field diaphragm (4) for the video microscope matches an acquisition area for the video sensor or image converter and consequently matches a field of view (1,2). The brightness of objects (6) with the same true brightness is measured so that average brightness of different visual fields varies widely through the structure of a micro-preparation. A glare coefficient is calculated as a result of the measurement of brightness in the objects. This corresponds to a coefficient of the linear regression of the pixel brightness in relation to the brightness of the field of view. Independent claims are also included for a method for producing a preparation to be used in determining intensity of glare and for a method for correcting glare in a video microscope.
