titleOfInvention SOLID PHASE SYNTHESIS OF PEPTIDAL ALCOHOLS
abstract New sugar deriv. (I) of a biologically active peptide, with prolonged duration of action when compared with the non-modified peptide, contains at least on one of the amino aicd units a sugar residue attached to an amino gp. by coupling other than a direct N-glycosidic bond, and additionally, when it is a condensation prod. of a carboxyl gp.-contg. sugar and a peptide with less than 8 amino acid units, by a coupling other than a direct amide bond. Also claimed are certain intermediates and the solid phase synthesis of octerotide or a peptide having 2 alcohol gps. or one alcohol gp. and one thiol gp.. A claimed deriv. is (N-desoxyfructosyl-Cys1)-oxytocin.
