titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF WATER CONTAINED WITH AT LEAST ONE TRIAZINE DERIVATIVE FOR DRINKING WATER PURPOSES |
abstract | The invention relates to a novel process for treating and purifying waters polluted with at least one triazine derivative for drinking water purposes, ozone being introduced into the water. It is characterized in that the water which is polluted with triazine derivative(s) and comprises over 200 ppm of bicarbonate (HCO3-) and possibly in addition from 2 to 15 ppm of DOC, which water is of drinking water quality with respect to the other constituents, is, in addition to the ozone introduction, subjected in continuous flow and a low layer thickness to the action of electron beam radiation of a minimum energy of 500 keV, the breakdown of the triazine derivatives in the water being performed by the electron beam radiation in combination with ozone down to a content of non- degraded residual triazine derivatives of less than 1 ppb, which is below the legally permitted maximum concentration. <IMAGE> |
