titleOfInvention METHOD FOR CHEMICAL BONDING OF TRANSITIONAL METALS AND / OR THEIR COMPOUNDS FROM SLURIES, POWDERS OR DUST CONTAINING SUCH METALS IN A CERAMIC MATRIX
abstract Process for the chemical incorporation of transition metals and/or their compounds from sludges, powders or dusts containing such metals into a ceramic matrix, in which one or more alumina-containing mineral(s) having an Al2O3 content of >30% by weight is/are mixed with the sludges, powders or dusts and preferably with mineralizers and, if desired, with quartz, amorphous SiO2, silica gel, phyllosilicates or kaolin and/or montmorillonite-containing clay, with the Al2O3/SiO2 weight ratio in the mixture being >1.0, and the mixture is subsequently sintered at from 950 degree to 1600 degree C to form mullite and/or spinel phases as thermodynamically very stable phases.
