titleOfInvention METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDES FROM GASES
abstract Process for removing oxides of nitrogen from gases, in which the molar ratio of NO to NO2 in this gas is first adjusted to 1 and the oxides of nitrogen are then absorbed in an aqueous ammonia solution, forming ammonium nitrate. In order to achieve the desired molar ratio in a simple manner, the invention provides for NO2 formed from the reaction of the ammonium nitrate with a strong acid to be injected in a regulative manner into the gas so as to set the molar ratio of NO to NO2.
