titleOfInvention | METHOD AND SORPTION BED FOR DRYING EXHAUST GAS OR EXHAUST AIR |
abstract | Gases flow through sorbents which are introduced in the dry state, in the temperature range between 30 and 130 degree C, in order to simultaneously desulphurize and remove nitrogen oxides from acidic and/or oxidizable polluting gases, which also contain HCl, HF, CO and gaseous hydrocarbons; in the reactor 4, the sorbent is provided in excess, while the feed 10 and discharge 12 take place in an approximately stochiometric ratio, and the reactor contents are circulated or at least broken up. The mean residence time of the sorbents is at least 20 minutes, and generally several hours or days. The mean particle size of the sorbent is at most 125 micrometres. Suitable sorbents are NaHCO3, on its own or mixed with urea, Ca(OH)2 or Mg(OH)2. To remove the carbon from the carbonate-, sulphate- and nitrate-containing used sorbents, they are recirculated into combustion chamber 1. The process allows the abovementioned polluting gases to be virtually completely bound or degraded approximately in stoichmetric ratios. <IMAGE> |
