abstract A central unit (100) for a decontamination system for chemical decontamination of rooms is described. The central processing unit (100) comprises (a) a port (128) for connecting a dispensing unit (180) adapted to dispense a chemical decontaminant into a space (190) to be decontaminated, (b) a control unit (110) for controlling a supply of the chemical decontamination agent to the dispensing unit (180); and (c) a user interface (215) coupled to the control unit (110) for inputting at least one information to the control unit (110). In this case, the information is associated with a user-defined decontamination process and the control unit (110) is set up in such a way that, based on the information, the corresponding user-defined decontamination process can be carried out by the central unit (110). A decontamination system with said central unit (100) and a method for chemical decontamination of rooms are also described, which method can be carried out with said decontamination system.
