abstract Claim 1: A process for the production of acephate comprising converting O,S-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate to acephate, wherein said O,S-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate is continuously prepared by reacting O,O-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate and dimethyl sulfate in a microreactor . Claim 2: The process for the production of acephate as claimed in claim 1 comprising: i) charging O,O-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate into a microreactor unit through a first line of the unit; ii) loading dimethyl sulfate into a microreactor unit through a second line of the unit; iii) reacting O,O-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate and dimethyl sulfate in a microreactor to form an O,S-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate product stream and iv) converting O,S,-dimethyl phosphoramidothioate to acephate. Claim 3: The process for the production of acephate as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the acephate is continuously prepared in the absence of a solvent.
