LITHIUM EXTRACTION |
abstract |
Apparatus and methods for the extraction of lithium from aqueous sources are described in this document. Divalent ions are removed by membrane stepwise separation. The aqueous source undergoes a solvent extraction process that extracts lithium. The aqueous and organic phases of the streams produced by the solvent extraction process are separated using electrical and/or gas flotation separation. The solvent gets rid of its complexes to discharge lithium. The streams produced by the elimination of the complex may be subject to separation by electrical and/or gas flotation. The removal of solvent complexes can be performed using an electrical separator. The aqueous streams have a pH adjusted for their return to the environment. |
