titleOfInvention | ALCOHOL DERIVATIVES AS OPENERS OF THE KV7 POTASSIUM CHANNEL |
abstract | The present provides compounds that activate Kv7 potassium channels. The separate aspects relate to pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds and uses of the compounds for treating disorders that respond to the activation of Kv7 potassium channels. Claim 1: A compound of formula (1), wherein R¹ is selected from the group consisting of C₁₋₆ alkyl, CF₃, CH₂CF₃, CF₂CHF₂, C₃₋₈ cycloalkyl, wherein said C₃₋₈ cycloalkyl may be substituted with 1 or 2 F, CHF₂ or CF₃, and R² is H, C₁₋₆ alkyl or CF₃; or R¹ and R² combine to form C₃₋₅ cycloalkyl optionally substituted with 1 or 2 F, CHF₂ or CF₃; R³ is C₁₋₃ alkyl or CH₂O-C₁₋₃ alkyl, said C₁₋₃ alkyl or CH₂O-C₁₋₃ alkyl may be optionally substituted with 1 or 2 F; R⁴ is selected from the group consisting of OCF₃, OCH₂CF₃, or OCHF₂. |
