RUBID ELUTION SYSTEM |
abstract |
Elution systems of ⁸²Sr / ⁸²Rb are provided that accept the patient's weight as an input function in order to determine an optimal amount of radioactive rubidium-82 for administration to a patient according to an image scan. Systems are also disclosed that provide a saline solution to purge residual b²Rb from the system downstream of the generator, and preferably administer the removed residual ⁸²Rb to the patient. Other disclosed systems measure the total volume of saline solution flowing through a ⁸²Sr / ⁸²Rb generator, a total volume of saline solution flowing through the generator and through a bypass line, or a total volume of saline solution received by a waste deposit, in order to monitor the system components in order to ensure the optimal operation of the system. |
